Visiting Wales |
USEFUL RESOURCES FOR EXPLORING WALES
AND FOR HOLIDAYS IN WALES |
|
Discovering Wales provides a very satisfying balance of physical and intellectual inspiration. It encourages one to travel outwards and extend the boundaries of ones world through physical interaction with the landscape... walking and listening to the sounds of the wild.
|
|
At the same time it seems to have a way of evoking the inner world so that one finds one is simultaneously extending the borders of a personal inner landscape, and the boundaries between the two worlds seem to fade, so the double journey becomes one holistic adventure. |
Use the map below to see some of the
things to see and do in the area |

Historical Wales - the Fabric of Legend
The Celts do Myth and Legend on a grand scale and you don't get more colourful characters than the ones that wander through the storyscape of Wales - many of them genuine historic figures that have had a tapestry of tales woven around their names...
Names such as King Arthur, and Merlin and of course the magical beasts such as Dragons... This is one part of the world where you would not be surprised to encounter any of the above as you explore its wild landscape.
It is also a land of Castles.. this part of Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere else in Europe - a large number of which are within a short drive of the cottage.
Read up on the Druids, Iron Age settlements, Roman Gold Mines or discover the people who dug up buried treasure daily... this is the heart of the Coal-Mining Community whose black gold was shipped across the world, and the area that provided the world with its Slate...

Wales is a country made for music and there are always musical events and festivals - there are Folk Music Festivals, Blues and Jazz Festivals and many others, some of which are listed here.

Testimonials |
See what some of the guests at the cottage say about their stay |
ENG: “It was such an amazing stay in this wonderful palace/cottage.
There are no details missing, it is absolutely cosy, spacious and elegantly decorated. We were surprisingly welcome with wine, bread and sweets, what a great treat!
The area is very nice for retreating and enjoying nature and Welsh hospitality. We could not have had a better stay. Thank you.”
